Halloween

HALLOWEEN

To celebrate the success of our Fundraiser, students are invited to wear their costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31,  and enjoy a Halloween Dance. Please do not send any accessories (eg. weapons, wands, etc).  As well, as always, there is no sharing of treats.

Halloween is a special time for children, a time that all kids should be able to enjoy trick or treating door to door with friends and family, however for children with food allergies trick or treating may not be a safe option.

In 2014 FARE started a campaign called The Teal Pumpkin Project the intention is to provide an option of non food related items for kids with allergies when they come door to door,  small items such as stickers, play dough, crayons, pencils, etc.

How to recognize an allergy safe home is for families to display a Teal pumpkin in some form, an actual pumpkin painted or bought they are available at Michaels annually, posters reading Teal pumpkin project, teal lights, or a drawing showing this home is an allergy safe option.

One of our wonderful parents, Ms.D’Annibalem will be helping to bring awareness to our grade 1-6 students about the Teal Pumpkin Project.  We thank her for sharing this information and we thank all of you for keeping all of our children safe at Halloween.
