Some of our staff and students have severe allergic reactions to certain foods and food products. The one most common allergy in our school is a severe reaction to peanuts and/or nut products. Students have been made aware if a student within their classroom has such an allergy. Due to the severe life- threatening reaction that may occur if these individuals come in contact with a nut product, we are insisting that ALL CLASSROOMS ARE NUT SAFE. These students could touch hands with someone who has peanut oil on their hands and suffer a severe allergic reaction. Classroom teachers will be sending home a letter indicating any other allergies in the class. Please be aware of these allergies and refrain from sending these food items to school.
Parents are not to send in any food items to be shared with other students. This includes special occasions such as birthdays, Halloween and Christmas. On behalf of the staff and the children and their parents, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring everyone’s safety.
